Could longer CPR save my teacup chihuahua? Understanding puppy loss.

My 7 week old teacup chihuahua named frankie died yesterday I was wandering if I had done cpr longer would he have survived and why did he die the day he died he had black runny poop and he stopped eating his skin went like play doe I did cpr for like 2 minutes but then poop and pee started to come out of him and he was ice ice cold I just started crying and then went and buried him if I did cpr longer would he have lived? I’m thinking about it all day

Hello. I am so, so sorry for this terrible loss of Frankie. It is difficult to say what actually killed him, but if it came on so suddenly & he passed so quickly, no amount of CRP was going to bring him back. I applaud your bravery to try CPR, but this is just often unsuccessful, especially since you did not have access to all the ancillary drugs we can use to try & resuscitate a pet. He was obviously not a very healthy puppy & being so little really makes it difficult to save one of these tiny patients. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

    Without a necropsy (autopsy) there is no way of knowing. It could have been caused by a congenital defect, heart disease, or toy breed hypoglycemia. I am so sorry for your loss. If you are interested in more answers, I would take your puppy to a vet ASAP for the necropsy.
