My dog has a red, hairless bump on his paw. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Male | neutered | 2 years and 6 months old | 150 lbs

I have a 2 year old American bulldog. He has a bump on his paw about as big around as a dime and it’s really red and has no hair. Should I be concerned? He is very aggressive towards people he doesn’t know so it’s hard to get him to a vet

This is most likely a histiocytoma which is benign tumor that will often times regress on it's own. However, I cannot diagnose over the internet so there is no way for me to know this for sure just by looking at a photo. I suggest you monitor it for now and if it does not seem to be going away (or if it gets worse) then you need to have it checked by your veterinarian.
