My German Shepherd pup has a bump after tick removal. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 60 lbs

Our German Shepherd one-year-old pup had a tick three days ago removed it, the head’s still on the tick in a plastic bag. Now she has a bump. Nice size but it’s not red, doesn’t looks infected but there is definitely a bump, should I be concerned. She acting like a hyper German Shepard, nothing new lol

I'd keep an eye on the bump for now. If it doesn't go away, gets bigger, or Lily starts showings signs of tick borne disease like lethargy and limping, have her seen by a vet immediately. I hope this helps!
