Why does my playful kitten keep pouncing and biting my new cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 21 days old | 2.5 lbs

Neptune is an active and playful kitten who really wanted a playmate. Pandora has been here 10 days. We have feliway. We have traded rooms, fed treats together. Let them out together for brief times and long times. Neptune never hisses or growls. He chirps and bops her in the head or back. He chases her. And bops again. She hisses and growls (and yeows if totally cornered) she wants to sleep or play with toys but he’s always in her face and hitting her. Today he pounced on herand bit her. Help!

It sounds like Neptune wants to play, and Pandora is responding appropriately. It doesn't sound aggressive to me, and honestly, you don't need to do anything because of that. Let them sort it out themselves. They will settle into a relationship. I'd only get worried if they get aggressive with each other. Best of luck.
