My kitten has diarrhea for a week, and amoxicillin isn't working.

Question

My kitten is 3 months old and has had diarrhea for about a week now. I took her to a local vet, he prescribed amoxicillin. I gave it to my kitten for 4 days now and she still has diarrhea. I’m really worried about her I need a second opinion on this. It can’t be her food I only give her the same food and it has caused no trouble in the past. I would recommend that you have Goose re-evaluated by the vet since their treatment didn't work. Diarrhea in kittens is commonly caused by intestinal parasites or food intolerance. They should perform a fecal intestinal parasite screen. Even if it is normal, empirical treatment for the intestinal parasites common in your area may be warranted.
