My hamster is chunky. How much should I feed him to lose weight?

I have 2 male hamsters that share a cage. And one of them has gained a lot of weight while the other one is still the same size. There’s two bowls but my question is how much should I be feeding them? And how do I help the chunky one lose weight? Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Male | unneutered

Thanks for reaching out about Oreo. Are you sure they are both males? Some animals grow at different rates. Is the smaller one skinny? Diseases such as bacterial/parasitic enteritis, metabolic disorders, dental disease, can all prevent weight gain. Weight can be controlled by offering a balanced diet which is pellets, versus seed which is high in fat. If the problem persists, a veterinary visit should be scheduled. Good luck.
