Senior cat in pain, slow, hiding. What should I ask my vet to check?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 lbs

My senior cat is moving very slowly, hiding under the bed, & acting like she doesn't want to jump. To me, it seems like she's in pain. All of this started this wk. I took her to the vet today, & they said she had high BP & poor vision. Got bp meds. He did an exam & didn't feel or see anything odd but didn't do xrays. He drew blood, but we won't have results until Monday. Is there anything else I should ask him to check? She seems pitiful, & I don't want her to be in pain.

I would speak to the vet to see if there are pain medications that can be prescribed to Dolce to help him with any pain. After you get the blood results on Monday, depending on what they find, x-rays may be the next step. Best of luck.
