How can I ensure my dog's homemade diet is nutritionally balanced?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I don’t think my dog (a 11 lb 10 mo old Maltipom) is getting proper nutrition. Trying to feed human food or raw frozen/and dehydrated. Eats muscle meats ok, a few vegies, cheese, egg occasionally, a bit of raw milk and kefir. Doesn’t like raw bones either, so not much calcium. Would like to supplement her with calcium/magnesium, enzymes, fish and flax oils. Think good, or some others possibly? Thanks!

I'm going to give you two websites that have recipes for homemade diets for dogs. They are run by veterinary nutritionists, so you are guaranteed they are balanced and no need to add any supplements. I hope this helps! https://secure.balanceit.com https://www.petdiets.com
