My large hyper dog needs training. How long will it take and what methods?

Okay my dog is a big breed and he's he's too hyper I was just wondering what I can do to get him trained and how long is going to take because he was in a kennel and I think that's her whole life I don't know and he is like two hyper so like when we take him out at least he gets excited Alexis tail but he don't sit when we tell him and I was just wondering if I should pull on his collar what should I do. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 120 lbs

I recommend you work with a trainer who uses positive reinforcement techniques to help train Prometheus. It may take a few months, but with proper and consistent training and rewards, hopefully you'll be able to get him trained. Also consider a dog daycare to help him burn off some energy.
