My spayed dog's large mammary glands are bothering her. Will they shrink?

Pet's info: Dog | Black Mouth Cur | Female | spayed | 48 lbs

I just adopted a 3 year old boxer mix and she has ten tits that are large and hanging she just was spayed when I adopted her will these shrink in time, she seems to be bothered by them as she constantly licks them. as she was a stray we are not sure when she had her litter, she was in the shelter for 4 months.

Yes, Sadie's mammary glands will eventually return back to a normal size, although it may take several months. If you notice any swelling, discharge, or masses in the area of her mammary glands, please have her seen by a veterinarian, as she may have an infection. You can put an e-collar (cone) on her for the next week or two to help prevent her from licking at the area.
