Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Female | spayed | 13 years old | 9 lbs
My cat recently had a check up/blood work done. The vet said she was in great health except slightly high kidney values and the start of gingivitis. But she has these odd facial twitches I've noticed. I mentioned it to the vet but she didn't seem concerned. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. Her whiskers just sort of twitch and she'll blink repetitively for a few seconds them she's done. She does it multiple times a day. If their was a problem wouldn't it have shown up on her blood work? Thanks

Hello. These symptoms do not throw up any red flags, & certainly not something that would show up in routine blood work. It is possible ( very slightly possible ) that this might be a very small focal seizure, definitely nothing I would recommend any kind of treatment or medication for at this time. With the mild gingivitis seen, this might also cause Mercy to respond in an odd way, or perhaps she has some underlying dental disease not apparent on the surface. Only a full set of dental x-rays would show problems below the jaw line. I think this just bears watching as long as it does not interfere with Mercy's ability to eat & interact with her family in a normal manner. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
