Accidentally gave Simparica & Sentinel with Seresto. Is my dog okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 3 months old | 47 lbs

I recently had my dog on simparica, but switched back to the seresto collar because I was finding a ton of ticks on him. I completely forgot about his sentinel and when I was asked today at his annual appointment, I went straight home and gave him the simparica, thinking it was the sentinel. When I realized it was the simparica, I gave him the sentinel. Is he going to be sick because of the simparica and seresto collar I have on him? Should I be concerned about the drugs interacting?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. No, your dog should not get sick from these medications combined. While they are not needed together, they do not interact negatively, so Mario should be just fine! I hope this is helpful!
