Bunny was feeling quite restless tonight. He was constantly running around and meowing really loud. When I went after him to check up on him, he had pooped hard and there were 2-3 drops of blood on his poop and some mucous. Is this something serious? Please guide me regarding the issue.

Bunny may be constipated. You can get laxatone over the counter and administer 1/2-1 tsp by mouth twice a day to help move the stool along, but since Bunny seems uncomfortable now, bringing him to your vet for an exam, an enema to clear out his colon, and lactulose to give at home as well as a prescription diet called Royal Canin GI Fiber Response to keep this from happening again would likely be the best option. Good luck!

I am sorry that Bunny is having this issue. I would recommend putting him on a bland diet (boiled chicken) for a few days. I would also recommend shaving under his tail to help with his fur getting dirty. Unfortunately, if this does not help then I do recommend taking Bunny to a veterinarian. They can provide medication to help resolve everything and make sure that the reason he is acting the way he is, is because of the diarrhea. If you notice any blood, vomiting, anorexia or lethargy he needs to see a vet as soon as possible. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
