My puppy's licking her bottom, something's hanging out. Is it serious?

My dog has been licking her bottom nonstop since yesterday, now she has something hanging out of it. Is this an emergency or something I really need to worry about or just keep her from licking it and it will heal? She’s a 3 month old schnauzer/ Dalmatian. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 28 days old | 14.8 lbs

It looks like Quail may be having an anal sac problem. See the link below for more information: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951501 I recommend you make an appointment to have Quail seen by a vet in case there is an anal sac infection, as they can be very painful, and I do not recommend that you try emptying Quail's anal sacs yourself for that reason. Your vet may recommend antibiotics, pain medication, or other treatment, as sometimes allergies, parasites, autoimmune disorders, or a mass/ growth in the area can also cause this appearance to the tissue. In the meantime I recommend that you keep an e-collar (cone) on Quail to help reduce the risk of her licking the area and causing further trauma.
