Trix was diagnosed with small cell lymphoma last month, not hi grade. She’s on Leukeran & prednisolone&eating well. Yesterday she started limping, not wanting to put pressure on her back left leg. Vet saw her, opted not to do xrays as he felt nothing was broken. She’s now on gabopentin. I was told by oncologist that it’s likely NOT related to the lymphoma& and that it’s a stretch to say that it has spread to the spine&nerves but a neurological exam can rule that out. What will a neurological exam show

A neurology exam will help localize the lesion or area where the pain is coming from. This will then in turn help us determine if this is likely an area that is high risk for cancer or an area that is just high risk for injury/arthritis. I do also hope that these two things are unrelated in nature and that Trixie is just experiencing some arthritis. I do also feel that an x-ray if she has not improved within 7-14 days, is definitely warranted. I hope that things work out well for your pet Trixie moving forward. Take care! : )
