My new puppy cries in the crate. Should I make him sleep in his crate?

Hi, I adopted a beagle, it is 37 days old. He is not comfortable sleeping in the crate. He prefers to sleep alone in any corner of the room. Should I practice him to sleep in crate or shall I leave him as such? He is crying a lot if I leave him in the crate. Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | 1 month and 5 days old
