What are signs it's time to consider euthanasia for my dog with CHF?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Male | neutered | 9 years and 1 month old | 10 lbs

Chi has chf. Heavy breathing w mouth open, lots of coughing. Gums good color, appetite and bowels/void good. When will I know it's "time"? 9yrs old, Lasix q 12hrs or PRN 6hrs, gabapentin q 12hrs PRN, enalapril q AM, pimobendan q 12hrs.

When you are unable to control Chewy’s symptoms with medication then it will probably be time to let him go. It sounds as if he is doing well for now. If he stops wanting to eat, has trouble with minimal exercise, or coughs constantly, these are signs that his disease is not well controlled. I hope this helps.
