My dog has soft, slimy poop but is active and eating. What to do?

Meeko has had 2 or 3 very soft to slightly watery bms since last night. He is eating and drinking, has normal activity level, no hot or dry areas, ie... nose ear etc. How should i handle this? Pumpkin cottage cheese and some pepto or Imodium or what? It is kinda slimy thick stringy mucous like texture with some structure to it.

I typically don’t recommend any specific treatment for soft stool or mild diarrhea as long as there is no blood, vomiting or a decrease in appetite. You could try a probiotic or a bland diet like chicken and rice (as long as there are no dietary restrictions) for a few days. I don’t recommend Pepto or Imodium for dogs, and while pumpkin won’t hurt in my experience it doesn’t help much. If the diarrhea lasts more than 3 days or you see other symptoms I’d recommend seeing your vet.
