My dog has a red swollen spot on her inner leg. Should I worry?

My dog has this red spot on the inside of her leg. It has a little swelling around it. What could it be?

It may be an insect bite or sting. It could also be local irritation or infection. You can monitor it for spread or resolution. See your veterinarian if it worsens, causes pain or if Lady becomes lethargic or starts limping.

    Hi there. Thank you for using Pet Coach! I do not see anything of concern based on the photo you provided. If it is not bothering Riley and there seems to be no redness, heat or tenderness then I suggest you just monitor it for now. As always though, you know her best and if you are concerned there is no harm taking her to your vet for an exam. Sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

    This looks like a scratch of some sort. I would keep a close eye on it, but it looks to be healing ok. Any swelling, Redness, discharge, or odor and he should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
