Why is my puppy barking and whining like it's crying all the time?

Puppies will bark or whine due to hunger, fear, boredom, pain, infection, if too cold/hot or if they have to go outside. Check to make sure he or she is not experiencing any of the above. If the behavior persists or worsens, consider an exam with your veterinarian.

Some puppies are more vocal than others, and in general puppies tend to howl or whine instead of barking. It can be an attention seeking behavior, or it can be something they do to express excitement or fear. To discourage this behavior it can be helpful to teach a command like 'quiet', and to focus on ignoring and redirecting the behavior. Young puppies will whine or vocalize when cold, hungry, sick, injured or if left alone for long periods of time. You can make sure he is fed, warm and has company. To diagnose illness or injury, he would need to be physically examined by your veterinarian.

My dog keeps whining and I don’t know why, could it be because of the cold weather or is it another reason?
It could be the cold, or it could be any other number of things, like stress, pain, discomfort, wanting a toy that is out of reach, itch, anxiety, etc. If there are other symptoms, I would have Bella checked out by a vet. You may try to watch her closely to see if there is any consistency in the timing or activities around the whining. You could also try calming supplements like Adaptil ( http://m.pet-supplies.drsfostersmith.com/search?view=grid&w=adaptil&visitorID=&cartcount=0&wishcount=0&division= ) or Zylkene to see if that could help.

My puppy randomly started acting weird tonight. She started barking out of nowhere and crying when I held her. She also barked at my little brother, she doesn't usually bark or cries so I'm concerned there might be something wrong with her?
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Naisha. If she is still exhibiting the symptoms of odd behavior, I recommend thst she sees a veterinarian. She could be painful or starting to develop an illness such as a respiratory tract infection. If the episode has passed, monitor her closely for similar signs. If the symptoms become more frequent, then I would have her evaluated. Puppies are growing and learning so sometimes can display different behaviors without it being problematic. Suddenly this one pup out of 5 pups is crying and acting like he's looking for something he cannot find rushing around all over the place. Nothing I do will make him stop. What is making him act crazy
It's possible something may have startled your puppy, however if he is whimpering or appearing very agitated it could indicate an issue such as pain or illness causing him to feel unwell. If the problem persists or you see other signs of illness, it is best to seek veterinary care ASAP as very young puppies can become very ill quickly.

Why my dog cries for 5 to 6 second occationally
Crying out could be an indication of anxiety or pain in your dog. This may just be a behavioral issue and your pup cries out to get you attention. If these episodes are consistent and increase in frequency then I would recommend having your puppy checked out to make sure there is nothing causing him pain or discomfort. I hope this helps. puppy does kind of like a whimpering/crying sound (what it sounds like) when it goes to sleep. Is tht normal? Is he sad?
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! This sounds like typical puppy behavior to me. As long as nothing is wrong such as vomiting/diarrhea, not eating/drinking, then these sounds are made by most puppies at different times. Part of this could be due to stress and the separation of them from their mother and littermates. I think we under estimate the trauma (short term) that these little guys can go through. I hope all continues to be good and that you enjoy your puppy.

New born puppy cries a lot, While nursing and resting. He doesn't cry for a long period of time, but I noticed he's the only one that cries the most.
Excessive crying can be a sign of a health issue, so I would have him seen by a vet immediately (take along his mother and siblings as well). Newborn puppies are extremely fragile, and very susceptible to cold and low blood sugar, so any potential problems with them need to be check out by a vet right away to give them their best chance at survival. His crying could signify problems in feeding (not getting enough milk), cold, or low blood sugar. Please take him into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him now.

New Pet
My pit bull puppy is 3 months old. She whines when climbing onto bed or being picked up. I have a vet appointment for her Thursday. Any ideas what might cause this?
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Okie. It sounds like he is painful. Has there been any history of recent trauma? If not, he could be experiencing neck or back pain. Another consideration is if he has a developmental bone/joint disease. It is sometimes difficult in puppies as they can cry in response to a behavioral issue as opposed to being painful. Try to keep him quiet before his appointment so that he does not exacerbate anything in case he is painful. Be sure to not give any over-the-counter pain medication as these can be toxic to dogs. My dog just had a puppy but the puppy won’t stop crying/whining! And the mother is becoming stressed what can be the issue? She’s also breastfeeding
Puppies usually cry when they are hungry or cold. Make sure she is latching and that mama dog has milk. Also open the puppies mouth and make sure the roof of the mouth looks normal- and no cleft palate. You may need to go buy puppy milk replacer and bottles.
