My cockatiel is suddenly screaming. Is he in pain or stressed?

Yesterday Rue was fine, but an hour ago when I went to see him, he was yelling and didn’t want me to hold him, now he’s on my shoulder and he’ll suddenly yell, is it be he’s molting and it hurts or could there be other reasons (no broken blood feathers, no cuts, no bone seems to be broken). Pet's info: Bird | Cockatiel | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 19 days old | 65 lbs
