Cat drooling, inflamed gums after fight. Vet said it's fine?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 lbs

My cat has been in a fight with our neighbors cat, and he has been drooling since. It looks like the gums around one of the canines are inflamed. I talked to the nearest vet yesterday, but he says its nothing to worry about (without even seeing the cat). What do you think? He is going to the toilet and he is contact seeking.

Hi, I would recommend to have him checked over as from a tiny puncture wound he could be developing an abscess.. and they cause quite a lot of pain ! Offer him some soft food in the meantime and keep him indoors so that you can monitor him.
