Hello. My crested gecko has her head in an upwards motion, and her toes keep twitching, when she moves she’s sluggish and slow. Why could this be?

Check the temps in the enclosure. Low temps can affect activity in reptiles. Make sure she is getting adequate amounts of calcium as well. If the behavior persists or worsens, have her physically examined by your vet or a vet experienced in treating reptiles to diagnose and treat any illness or injury.

By your description, your gecko may be stressed or angry. Confirm proper environmental parameters, turn down the light intensity if possible and monitor him/her. If the behavior persists, consider an exam with your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles to diagnose illness or injury. Other potential causes include neurological disorder, viral infection, MBD or other nutritional deficiency and constipation/obstruction.
