Why does my dog arch his back and cry out in pain when I touch him?

My dog is arching his back and screeches a little if jostled or touched wrong. It started yesterday afternoon, but in the evening we took him for a walk and he acted fine for a little while. What might be wrong? Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 5 years old | 6.5 lbs
