My old cat is pooping on floor and throwing up. Is it ant spray?

my cat is about 13 or 14 years, and has been pooping on the floor at night, also throwing up. I recently sprayed some spots for ants, could that cause it? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 lbs

While ant spray could cause vomiting depending on what the active ingredient is, I doubt it is related to the pooping. Inappropriate defecation can be related to pain, gastrointestinal disease, or it can be behavioral. At Brandy’s age I’d recommend a physical exam and potentially lab work as a starting point, particularly if she continues to vomit.
