Pet's info: Dog | Cairn Terrier | Male | neutered | 14 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
My 14 year old Cairn Terrier Sam is on antibiotics from his vet for a possible gum infection. Now all of a sudden he is getting really thick yellow mucus dripping from his nose. It’s hard to get out. Is this normal or should I be concerned. He sees his vet again this Tuesday.

Poor Sam! That is unusual and not expected. There are a few possibilities including infection, fungal disease, cancer, foreign body in the nostril or oral-nasal fistula. I recommend to call your veterinarian today. They may want to see Sam sooner. I hope he starts feeling better quickly!
