Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 4 months old | 72 lbs
My 2 yr old mixed breed (blood hound, lab German shepherd) swallowed a small stuffed toy 2 weeks ago. She passed part of it in a couple days. Monday she passed the body of it and continues to have very loose light colored stool. The Vet wants her stool soft, but I am concerned about the time frame. I am feeding boiled chicken and rice. She is playful when with other dogs, but tires easily on walks. Good appetite, no vomiting.

Hello. I am not concerned about the time frame as foreign material can temporarily get hung up in a part of the intestines & it just takes a bit longer to move it out. As long as Delilah is eating well with no vomiting, no one ever died from a soft stool. She may be tired if all she is eating is the boiled chicken & rice as there is none of the extra energy she would get from the fat calories normally found in a complete diet. I would ask your vet about starting to introduce a more normal diet to her now & see if this improves her energy levels. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
