Why is my pet rat struggling to breathe and acting so tired?

Hi I have a pet rat and since the day I got her she makes these weird noises. its like a scratchy sound, like she is struggling to breath. She eats fine but she's always tired and lazy but she walks fine drinks water. Do you know whats wrong? Pet's info: Small Animal | Rat | Female | 22 lbs

A common respiratory disease in rats is mycoplasmosis, a bacteria-like organism that causes chronic upper and lower respiratory symptoms such as wheezing, sneezing and congestion. Antibiotics can improve condition but might not cure. A veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.
