Is eye infection in cockatiel contagious? Also my bird is underweight, How can I help him gain weight?

I am sorry your bird is not feeling well. Typically upper respiratory infections are not contagious however it will determine what is the cause. Some viruses and bacteria can be contagious to other birds but unlikely people. However if your bird is underweight it is important to get the bird to a vet for some blood work. Typically birds loose weight due to underlying disease like infection. I would make sure you always offer clean food and water. Hope that helps
