Is my 7-month-old cat too young to get pregnant and have kittens?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 27 days old | 4 lbs

Hello! I have female British short hair. She is 7 months old. She was in heat last week. It last 3 days now she is in heat again. I don't want to spay her now because I want her to have babies. But is it too early for her to get pregnant now? Shoul I just wait?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Peynir. While she is physically able to become pregnant at such a young age, it is not advisable. As a kitten, she herself is still growing. Pregnancy would put a huge demand at her body now. I recommend waiting until she is well over a year of age, if not two years old, to breed her. I hope this information helps!
