My puppy isn't eating, vomiting, and might have parvo. Help at home?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 3 months and 6 days old

My dog hasn't been eating since yesterday and we suspected that he got parvo and tried using raw egg to prevent it as it was advised by a vet we know. He pooped yellow with I think worms on it. Now we made him take nematocide and water with d-glucose monohydrate but eventually puke with white slimy spots. We can't take him to the vet since we spent a lot of money toanother puppy. What can we do to help him at home? And how many days will I be expecting that he'll regain his appetite and energy?

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Saiko is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. These types of conditions should not be treated at home. Raw egg does not prevent parvovirus. For this reason, I recommend that you have Saiko evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start him on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your boy!
