What's this pink, scabby bump on my dog's eyelid? Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Female | 3 years and 1 month old | 13 lbs

My chiweenie has a small bump almost on the center of her top eye lid. It's been there for like a week now its was small got bigger and more pink. I've applied warm water on a wash cloth a couple times. Today I realized it looked like it had a very tiny scab on it, so I got warm water and a wash cloth and its looked like a tiny bit of clear stuff was coming out. Do you know what this is?

It is possible that Ganja has something like an infection or perhaps a sty on the eyelid. It sounds like the lesion is getting worse. Sometimes the body will heal this on its own, if it ruptures or you notice continuous oozing, pain or excess of redness, have her examined by the veterinarian. If it does not go away completely within a few days, also have her examined by the veterinarian. Protect the area from rubbing or scratching with an Elizabethan collar. You can gently apply a warm, not hot, compress to the area twice a day. This may help. It’s always best to play it safe so use your best judgment. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
