My dog ate a lemon wedge. Will he be okay? Is it toxic for dogs?

Ate a small lemon wedge most of the juice was out of it though will he be okay

Hello. There is nothing toxic or dangerous about lemon wedges, although for the life of me, I can not imagine a dog wanting to eat a lemon wedge! Dogs are amazing & never stop surprising me. Baker will be fine. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is not necessarily bad but I would be concerned about the possibility of your pup being able to swallow one hole causing an obstruction. Also, lemons can cause gastrointestinal upset including vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. I would recommend not using a lemon for this purpose. Good luck and have a great day!

My dog sand licked the inside of a hollowed lemon ( lemon is hollow after squeezing it) will she be alright? I heard about the dangers of lemons to pets and am very worried. :(
I have already answered that your dog will be probably be just fine. Lemons are not fatal to dogs, they just may cause some GI upset. I dog that is 110 pounds that licked the inside of a hollowed lemon did not ingest enough for it cause a problem. If you would like to post again I will be happy to just let another expert answer if you want a another opinion.

Hello, yes lemon juice is not considered to cause any significant side effects. If he develops loose stools or vomiting. If these persists over a day, then have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Hope this helps.

My 18 pound miniature poodle just ate one bite of lemon poppy seed bread. Should I be concerned?
I would not be concerned if Dani only ate one bite of a lemon poppyseed muffin. Please monitor GI upset like vomiting and diarrhea and if these occur you may offer a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice. If vomiting or diarrhea does occur and is severe you may need to have Dani examined to see if medication is needed. Again, I think it's highly unlikely Dani will become sick but do suggest monitoring her for the next day or so to ensure she doesn't get mild stomach upset. Hi, my 6 year old cocker spaniel just ate atleast half a lemon meringue pie will she be ok or will she need a vet? Thanks.
Oh boy, Jessie! Well, there is nothing toxic in pie as long as you didn't add any artificial sweeteners. That said, that amount of sugar, fat, etc. may cause stomach upset.. vomiting or diarrhea. I would feed only a small meal for the next meal, and let the stomach rest. Watch for problems and see your vet if you notice any issues.

I think my dog took a sip from my honest kids berry berry good lemonade just now, is this going to hurt him?
There is likely very little grape juice in this lemonade. The overall fruit content is very low, and then the grape juice in this lemonade is also only a very small part of the fruit content. You will most likely not have to worry.

I think my dog ate a leech. I’m just worried. Will she be okay?
I would not be concerned with your dog eating a leech. They don't have any toxic qualities and the leech if it was not already dead when swallowed will die in the acidic environement of the stomach.

My dog just drank a bowl of water with maybe 10ml of pure lemon extract. Is that safe for her?
If it was diluted, she likely won't suffer serious effects, especially at her weight. You may see some gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting and/or diarrhea. Monitor for drooling, decreased appetite, weakness or ataxia (wobbly gait). See your veterinarian if necessary. The alcohol content is a concern, but the dilution and her weight will work in her favor. Monitor for similar symptoms.

I have a 2 month old schitzu puppy and I had dried lime juice on my hand and it licked my fingers. Will this hurt him?
Lime juice isn't toxic to pets, so this likely won't have any effects on Thor. The worst case scenario is that he may have a mild stomach upset from the citrus. If you do see some loose stool, then you can feed him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for the next few days. Otherwise, he should be fine. My 16 lb. dog ate a few small slices of onion (I think) from a McDonald’s hamburger. Knowing onions are toxic but given the small amount will he be ok?
Hello. You have nothing to worry about with this small amount of cooked onion. The problems associated with ingesting onions usually occur with chronic, long term ingestion possibly from a bored dog eating onion grass outdoors or home cooking for a pet & an owner not realizing that onions may cause problems .
