My dog pulls and barks at other dogs on walks. How can I stop it?

Our dog goes crazy when we see another dog while our for a walk. She almost pulls me over. I am disabled and walk with a rolling walker. She barks and growls and the whole time her tail is going a mile a minute. I take her to the dog park where she is off the leash and she loves to play with other dogs. We adoped her in September (she is 8 yrs old). What can we do. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 75 lbs

Penny is adorable! I suggest getting her into an obedience class or consulting with a trainer. She may be feeling protective of you, which is a good thing, but she needs to learn how and when to be protective. Obedience training is a great first step. Ask your veterinarian if they offer or know of obedience classes, call pet stores like PetsMart or Petco and ask who they recommend.
