What happens if my dog eats a few fertilizer pellets? Are they toxic?

My mom has a lot of flowers around the house and she has this fertilizers that look like small balls. My dad accidentally knocked one over and I immediately vacuumed to make sure my dog wouldn’t get one in his mouth. Are this toxic? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

Hello. Without knowing what the ingredients are it is difficult to say, but if you managed to vacuum things up pretty quickly, I would not worry. Most plant fertilizers are not very toxic. Now, if your pet had managed to eat 1/2 a bag, there would be some concern, but if a few were eaten by accident or out of curiosity, Charlie will be just fine.
