Should I give my dog biotin or keratin for a long, full coat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rough Collie | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 23 days old | 24 lbs

Can I give Trusty biotin or keratin to help his coat grow long and full? I know some Collies don't have a very long coat, but I was just hoping there's something I can use to help his grow long.

I recommend putting him on a high quality food instead of trying to find supplements for his coat, this will have a much greater impact of his coat quality. don;t pay too much attention to the coat length and quality before the age of 6 months as he will soon lose his puppy coat and grow his permanent one.
