Dog's eyelid swollen with a blister after park. Vet or home remedy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi, my dog’s left eyelid has been swollen from last night after I brought her to the dog park. There seems to be a blister on her eyelid, but her eyes look normal nothing happened inside. And she is normal as before and doesn’t scratch the injured eye. Is it a bug bet? So I need to take her to the vet or is going to heal by itself? Thanks! Best, Cynthia

Hello. It appears that the upper eyelid is inflamed. This is a condition called blepharitis. It could be an allergic reaction to something in the park. You can apply warm compresses to the area alternating with cool compresses to help relieve the swelling. (3-4 times a day). If it has not improved in the next 24-48 hours, I would have your vet examine her and determine if further treatment is needed.
