Why is my dog suddenly acting strange, shaking, and having accidents?

My dog has been acting strange for the past few days. She breathes heavily and shakes uncontrollably. Her ears are perked up when they are typically flopped down. (I assume to cool her body temp) She has trouble pooping a few days ago and had a small case of diarrhea but is pooping fine now. Her tail is tucked as well. She pooped and peed a few times in the house as well as if she couldn’t hold it. I know we have rat poison in our porch but my mom refuses to believe she can get to it. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 20 lbs

Aww, I’m sorry to hear about Daisy! I see this commonly with either pain or anxiety. These little guys can easily injure their backs and legs which can cause changes in behavior and the way they stand- as well as shaking. You may also notice Daisy avoiding the dog door or refusing to jump on beds/couches as she normally does. I recommend taking her in for a good physical exam to see if this might be the case.
