Is daily bathing or pool time safe for dogs in extreme heat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 4 months old | 31 lbs

Is it okay to bathe dog everyday? Or atleast let them in the makeshift swimming pool for a few minutes everyday? The temperature in our country is 37°C to 41°C everyday specially in the afternoon and we cannot accomodate our 10 rescue dogs in our bedroom where aircondition is only available (they are in our living room). Drinking cold water doesn't seems to help them in this hot weather ☹️

That is hot! Chlorinated pool water can cause an over drying of the skin. A baby pool full of tap water that is safe to drink is less likely to cause dry skin and is fine for the dogs to get in. Try to provide shade, elevated beds to allow circulation and fans if possible. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
