My dog has severe stomach pain and a stiff belly. Is it an emergency?

My dog has very intense abdominal pain (simply touching the area causes her to cry out in pain) and her abdomen is stiff

Poor Izzy! Intense abdominal pain like this is very concerning, so I would recommend taking her to an emergency clinic today to be seen. Some possible causes of abdominal pain might include pancreatitis, GDV (gastric dilatation and volvulus, or “bloat”), or an intestinal blockage. The veterinarian at the ER can do x-rays or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.
