Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 12 lbs

Hi! I have a 3 years old maltipoo. Very active always jumping up and down couches bed and playing. He was playing with another small 5 months old dog and not sure if coincides but start crying when he would jump and then was shaking and laying down a whole day, got a bit better, tried playing again and this morning he was just laying down and shaking again, he avoids walking but if needed he does. When touched on back leg he cries. What could of happened? Do I need to take to vet? What can I do

It sounds like he has injured his leg/pelvis and yes if he is reluctant to move he should be assessed by a vet for pain relief and possibly xrays to rule out a fracture or dislocation. Keep him well rested and prevent any jumping, slipping or falling which may further aggravate any injury he may have until you can have him fully assessed

Poor Skiba! If he is shaking and acting depressed then he really should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. He could have a problem with his back or neck causing him discomfort. Your vet can prescribe an anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxer, and/or pain medications, if needed, to help make him more comfortable. Call your vet and schedule an appointment as soon ad possible. Hope he feels better soon!
