How often can I use MalAcetic for dog ear yeast, and are wipes good?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Jennifer summerfield, I do have MalAcetic from our vet but it says to only use it once a month. I already applied some to her ears for the month. Can I use it more than once a month? I also have ear wipes for her, are those good to use for yeast as well?

With the way the Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach forum works an expert may not see a follow up question - if you want to talk to Dr. Summerfield directly you can see if she would be available for a consultation. MalAcetic is labeled for use more than once a month, but if this is how your vet intended it to be used I would recommend checking in with them before changing the frequency of dosing. The wipes may not be that effective for an ear infection unless she tends to develop infections on her external ear. Hope this helps!
