What's causing my dog's fever, nosebleed, not eating, and cough?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 55 lbs

My dog isn't eating. All the vaccinations up to date. 4 days ago my dog started having high fever ranging from 103-105°F. On the 3rd day he started bleeding from one nostril. It was continuous in flow. We applied ice immediately and the bleeding stopped. In the afternoon of the same day it started bleeding again, and then stopped. It's the 5th day now and it hasn't bled since. We are giving him a few antibiotics but the fever just won't come down. He coughs occasionally. What must be the cause?

It could be Gus Gus has a foreign body, growth, or fungal infection in his nose causing the bleeding. A fever means that he could have an infection going on. He needs to see a vet now, as he sounds quite sick with all of his symptoms. Please take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
