My dog's tick collar isn't working. What should I do about ticks?

My dog has had his collar on for over a week now and I’ve had to remove 4 ticks in the last three days that were latched on to him and sucking blood . The collar doesn’t seem to be working against ricks at all!!! Is this common or did I purchase a dud? Everyone recommended it and swears by this collar and my poor dog has new ticks every other day recently. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 11 lbs

It depends on the brand of collar, as I find most of them to be pretty poor. The only one I really like is Seresto. But if you are still finding ticks, I'd say this isn't working. I recommend a spot on treatment like Revolution, it's excellent. I hope this helps!
