My dog ate hydromorphone. Is it toxic? What should I do immediately?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Long Coat) | Male | neutered | 14 years and 7 months old | 11.5 lbs

My dog just eat a 1 mg tablet of hydromorphone do I need to worry or should I just get him to drink more?

This drug is not typically used orally in dogs, but this is a dose that would be within the normal range for IV. I think that most opiates are not as available when given orally to dogs so while Gizzmo may be sedate I would guess you won’t see any signs of toxicity.
