My dog is bleeding and swollen after her heat. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 25 days old | 12 lbs

My dog was in heat 7 weeks ago. Recently she started bleeding again and her privates have swelled up more then last time. What does this mean ?? What should I do ??

Are you sure Bella is in heat and isn't suffering from a pyometra? Dogs go into heat once every six months, so I'm concerned she is showing these signs now. If she does have a pyometra, it is fatal without treatment, so I would take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

    I'd be concerned that this bleeding isn't normal ,and it could be a sign of something serious like a pyometra (an infection of the uterus). I'd have Sunny checked out by a vet in the morning. Best of luck.
