My dog's staples are out. How likely is her surgical wound to reopen?

Bella are dog just got her staples out the veterinarian gave us antibiotic for her to take every 12 hours I just wanted to know if it possible for her wound to reopen

It is difficult to say just by the picture, but since the outside skin is separated there, so it is possible that it could separate more. I would still adhere to the strict cage rest guidelines from your vet and not encourage running, jumping, playing etc. There are several layers of sutures placed on pets incisions, so the inner sutures are likely still there, but it is best to play it safe and definitely finish the course of antibiotics that are prescribed. I would also ask your vet if it is good to flush the area daily with just sterile saline daily to encourage this to heal well, since it is a bit open. If you notice the skin separating more or discharge from the area after being on antibiotics for at least 3-4 days, then it is best to take Bella back in to your vet for further wound care.
