My dog is still hopping and limping. What diagnostics are needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 4 years and 10 months old | 12 lbs

5yo rescue schnauzer mix intermittently throwing back leg up& hopping while walking, no obvious distress. Vet manipulated leg&dx'd poss. arthritis in hip.I think cd. be injury from playing at daycare(based on timing). Glucosamine/antinol&NSAID prn; week later, no progress. Shorter walks b/c needs exercise. Some light massage&heat. Do you recommend xray/other diagnostic? BTW, last time I did this it rated the answer as unsatisfied but cd. not change it w/o paid consultation, apologies!

It's ok! It happens sometimes that people press unsatisfied when they mean to press satisfied. Thanks for apologizing! Yes, I do do recommend starting with an x-ray and going for there given that Francie has had no progress on medication. I hope this helps!
