My senior Shih Tzu is shaking, not eating, and drinking a lot. Why?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My 13 year old shihtzu has been shaking for 5 days until I wrap her in a blanket. Had temp 103.8 but down with amoxicillin. Not wanting to eat less and less. Drinking a lot of water and peeing more. Very wobbly and lethargic. History if UTIs and bladder stones. Brother died 2, months ago and very depressed. Peed the bed last night. Checked by vet. Grades 3 and 4 heart murmer's. I did urine test. Specific gravity 1.06

Hi, she is so beautiful and does not look her age at all. I wonder if she is feeling a bit anxious as she seems to settle when wrapped up. The increased thirst and urination needs investigating through a blood sample. Try to tempt her to eat and to keep her comfortable. Hope this helps and that she feels better soon.
