Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | spayed
Hi, I'm looking for advice for yuki, she's always had this kinked tail, which we think is a gene defect of some sort due to breeding, she is a British shorthair. As she's gotten older (4 years) it appears to hurt her more and affects her hip movement as the last bone kink looks to be just below the hip joint. We have gotten painkillers for her from the local vet but I was wondering if there might be anything else we could do for her, or if perhaps looking into removing the tail could help?

I would have x-rays done on Yuki's tail. It could be the kink in it is pressing on the nerves of her tail, leading to the pain. I would also speak to the vet, as removing the tail may make her feel better.
